Philosophy as a Whole: Departure Lounge

The prime purpose of the Universe of Difference website is to offer a visual aid for some basic ontological concepts about reality (and our relationship to it). So far I’ve only scratched the surface of ‘existence exists’ and the idea that ‘entity has/is identity’ by way of ‘difference making a difference’.

But, so far, it’s a paltry offering — just another work-in-progress website. Apart from its sparse content, I’m questioning the structure. Why have I plunged directly into the metaphysical deep-end of ‘differences making a difference’? Perhaps I should at least initially provide the context of Objectivism’s three metaphysical axioms (existence, identity, consciousness). Furthermore, as these axioms help delineate metaphysics from epistemology so well, I ought to map out these two branches of philosophy within philosophy as a whole.

So the news is that I’m currently working on ‘the best possible visual representation’ of all five branches of philosophy (Objectivism's metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, politics, aesthetics) + the reason for these five distinctions. This would likely become the ‘departure lounge homepage’ over at UoD, helping passengers acclimatise to the site’s metaphysical/epistemological focus.

Branches of Philosophy

So please wait here, next month I aim to post an example…
